Locked on Pacers: Indiana outlasts New York Knicks in latest wild playoff game as Andrew Nembhard hits 31-foot game winner

The Indiana Pacers aren’t dead yet. They win their first game of the second round and bring the series tally to 2-1 in favor of the New York Knicks as Tyrese Haliburton leads the way with 35 points, Myles Turner makes an insane chasedown block late, and Andrew Nembhard hits a game-winner from 31-feet with 17.1 seconds remaining.

To discuss all the major moments, key plays, adjustments, and more, I joined SI.com’s Tony East on the Locked on Pacers podcast. Watch it on YouTube below or listen to the podcast on any of your preferred providers.

We discuss the following:

  • Andrew Nembhard coming up clutch in a game where he didn’t score until there were under two minutes remaining in the game.
  • Myles Turner’s playoff block moment with Roy Hibbert looking on courtside while wearing a Turner jersey.
  • Tyrese Haliburton rising to the occasion, figuring out how to be aggressive, fighting through various body aches and back spasms to score 35 points while taking 26 shots.
  • Pascal Siakam being the second star that was needed and making 7 of 9 free throws after struggling all playoffs from the foul line.
  • The Pacers flipping the fourth quarter script against the Knicks by being the team that finishes strong and gets every offensive rebound late in the game. Knicks score just 1 point over an almost 6-minute stretch in the 4th quarter.
  • Aaron Nesmith’s superb defense on Jalen Brunson and other adjustments and changes we saw in Game 3 from both teams.
  • The bench’s all around struggles and how a small tweak in the rotation may have contributed somewhat to the off night at home after two superb road games for the Pacers second unit.
  • Marveling at the play of both Donte DiVincenzo, who scored 35 points, and Josh Hart, who gobbled up 18 defensive rebounds.
  • And more
