Indiana Pacers to sign center Moses Brown according to multiple reports

The Indiana Pacers are finally adding a center to their roster as their injuries continue to pile up. Moses Brown, who was averaging 19 points and 14 rebounds in the G-League, is expected to sign with the team this week according to multiple reports including ESPN, IndyStar, and Forbes.

The Pacers have now announced the addition Brown Wednesday after losing both James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson to Achilles injuries for the entire season. Myles Turner is now out for Monday’s game against the Toronto Raptors with a sore calf. It is unclear if his absence will extend beyond that.

“I’m just a high-energy player,” Brown said at shootaround Wednesday, “looking to rebound, looking to get my teammates involved and be an anchor on defense.”

Tony East of Forbes reports that the deal is for 2 years and will be non-guaranteed which gives the Pacers some upside if Brown performs above expectations and makes this more than a rental. Since it is unguaranteed, the Pacers could cut him at any time if they decide to acquire a different player at a later date.

This is, indeed, a two-year contract for Moses Brown. Fully non-guaranteed, and second year is a team option. So Pacers paying for some possible future upside.

Brown is expected to be available to play against the Rockets. Brown, 25, brings a surprising amount of NBA experience having played 150 games for six teams over his first five seasons. He provides an immediate height boost for the temporarily centerless Pacers at 7’2”. He has averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds per game over his career.
