The Pacers were crushed by the Thunder in Game 2 by a final score of 123-107. Tyrese Haliburton struggled much of the night but finished with a team-high 17 points. After the game, he did have a slight limp that was noticeable as he walked off the podium. Multiple members of the media pointed it out.
Whatever is ailing him, it didn’t seem like it affected him in the fourth quarter as he scored 12 points and there were no signs he was concerned about his status heading into the next game during his post-game interview. But it is something to monitor over these next couple of days before the Pacers host the Thunder for Game 3 on Wednesday.
Update: Rick Carlisle did not have an update on Haliburton during his usual Tuesday morning radio appearance on 107.5 The Fan but Haliburton was seen running normally during the portion of practice open to media on Tuesday.
Haliburton called it a lower leg thing but that he is fine and will be ready for Game 3.
Rick Carlisle gave an update on Jarace Walker, who badly sprained his ankle in Game 6 of the conference finals, ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder.
“He’s doing better but he’s not close to playing,” Carlisle told the media prior to the game. “He’s on one crutch, hopefully going to be off crutches in the next day or so … there’s a possibility he could get back.”
Carlisle has already announced earlier that Walker would be out for at least the first two games. It seems the series will have to be long for the young forward to have a chance to play in the Finals. He did travel with the team to OKC and was seen leaving the locker room on crutches after the thrilling first game. Unfortunately, still no update on whether or not he got his Culver’s order for the flight.
