A late addition to the Indiana Pacers injury report tells us that Bennedict Mathurin will be out for tonight’s game against the Miami Heat with a left wrist sprain.
Rick Carlisle told Jeremiah Johnson that he will be out for at least the next couple games with the wrist sprain, a knee issue, and Achilles soreness.
It’s unclear when this wrist injury occurred or the other ailments listed as Mathurin was not on the injury report prior to 12:30 p.m. The Pacers are on the road in Miami looking to continue to their success after the All-Star break after a 4-1 homestand.
T.J. McConnell is available to return from his two-game absence with his right ankle sprain. Tyrese Haliburton is not on the injury report after being questionable with a sore left groin prior to scoring 33 points against the Toronto Raptors in an impressive performance.
The Miami Heat’s injury report includes Bam Adebayo as questionable with a right calf contusion (is available and will start), Andrew Wiggins as questionable with a right ankle sprain (is OUT), Nikola Jovic is out with a broken hand, and Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware are both on the injury report but available to play tonight.
Mathurin recently moved back into his sixth-man role that he spent much of last season. He’s averaging 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists this season in 55 games. This would be just the third game that he’s missed all year.
