According to multiple media reports, the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a 1-year, $4.5 million deal with center Kyle O’Quinn.

In 18 minutes per game last season, he averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists with the New York Knicks.

It’s a surprising move at what looks like the Room Exception as O’Quinn played 99% of his minutes as a center last season according to Basketball Reference and the Pacers have two of those lined up with Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis already.

Perhaps the Pacers will look to play him more at power forward this upcoming season. He could even split the backup minutes at power forward with TJ Leaf (if he’s ready to play) depending on the nightly matchup.
