It had been rumored for about the past 24 hours, but now it’s official: Tyreke Evans is coming to the Indiana Pacers.
The deal will be for one year and $12 million. Evans will give the Pacers the secondary playmaker that they desperately needed last season alongside Victor Oladipo.
Evans could serve as the sixth man or start in place of Bojan Bogdanovic at small forward, plenty of time to settle all of that in training camp.
Evans averaged a 19/5/5 line in his lone season with the Grizzlies. Injuries have held him out a lot of games in the last few seasons, but he’s been steadily improving as a shooter when he’s been on the court. He made 39.9% of his 3-pointers last year.
