The Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Victor Oladipo struggled on the one of the biggest stages in the basketball world at Madison Square Garden during the first-half with just five points against the New York Knicks on national television.
He went on to score 19 points in the second half including 9 points in the game’s final minutes including a go-ahead steal and two clutch 3-pointers to clinch the win for Indiana.
After the game, we found out why he may have been struggling at the start. He told ESPN that he was dealing with bronchitis but decided to play anyway.
Here’s the other big highlights for Oladipo on the night, who scored 24 points on 10 of 18 shooting.
Oladipo showed up to MSG in a Black Panther costume for Halloween. Someone must have given Oladipo the heart-shaped herb at halftime of this one.
Domantas Sabonis carried the Pacers for much of the night with 30 points on perfect shooting (once a weird stat error is fixed). He fouled out after just 21 minutes and had 5 turnovers, but his consistency around the basket was huge all night for Indiana.
