Setting the Pace: Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics Game 4 Preview

The Indiana Pacers season and playoff run could come to an end today if they can’t find a way to avoid a sweep against the Boston Celtics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle promised that his team would come out and hit them harder than ever after their disappointing loss in Game 3 and is trying to use the possibility of a trophy presentation for the Celtics on the Pacers home floor as extra motivation to get the series sent back to Boston.

To discuss all things Game 4 and what’s transpired over these three games and how to extend this series to a fifth game and beyond, I joined Alex Golden on the Setting the Pace podcast. You can watch on YouTube below or on any of the usual podcast providers here.

Among the discussion points:

  • The disappointment that comes from two devastating losses while trying to find the glimmer of hope in the fact they’ve had the opportunity to win these games against a 64-win Celtics team.
  • The Celtics getting lucky in these unbelievable wins or making their own luck?
  • Can the Pacers find a fifth guy to contribute on both ends with Tyrese Haliburton likely out again? He’s listed as questionable but reports have indicated it’s unlikely he plays.
  • The last time the Pacers won a game down 3-0. The pattern in this playoff run that may turn you into Lloyd Christmas, so you’re telling me there’s a chance.
  • All these and more. #PacersIn7

If you can’t get enough of me on Pacers podcasts, I also recapped Game 3 with Tony East on Locked on Pacers here.
